It's Always Sunny in the British Empire

The other day I caught this episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and it made me question why I don't watch this show regularly. I know those who do watch it will tell me this episode is old news but I still have to post this for latecomers like myself because there's some gems in it. I particularly cracked up when they talk about what a British noble looks like compared to a colonist. Enjoy!

  1. I would just like to say that I am not receiving your blog updates.

Your blog stays always at the bottom of my blogroll list.

Is this happening to others or just me?

  2. I've noticed that on other ppl's blogs too! I have no idea why that happens but it makes me very sad. I better start to investigate this further, because it is only on certain blogrolls.

  3. I love this show! I got a kick out of this episode also, too funny. These characters are mental but, hey, they make me laugh...

  4. I thought the first season was the best, but I have to say my favorite part of the show is the opening credits - those street shots of Philly with that bright, romantic music just puts me in a great mood. Reminds me of the feel of the Mary Tyler Moore show, has that slightly retro, very upbeat feeling.

  6. I don't watch this show because I find it sexist (the woman in it is often punched out) but yes, parts are funny.

  7. @Tulip: I agree to a point about the sexist thing. Also, over time it has degenerated into a sort of caricature of itself. BUT, if I could pick my own life theme music, it would be the credit tune for this show.
Note on the sexist part: I watched an interview about the producers/writers. They were so ill prepared to develop the female character that on her first audition they had her read a scene that was originally between two of the male characters, changing the name to the female character name so she wouldn't be wise to it too soon. I think knowing that about them really supports your perspective.
