Frizzy hair aside, Mrs Juel won us over with her sunny gown which got a very happy Yay from the panel. This week we will travel to England for our selection. A non-frizzy hair selection.
Allan Ramsay paints Lady Susan (1761) in frilly white gown with a delft-blue stomacher. Yay or Nay?
Not sure what's going on with the fuzzy boa-necklace, but overall I liked the reserved nature of the piece. Yay.

I'm not crazy about that trim around her neck either, but the rest of the dress is beautiful, So is the painting itself. Yay!
ReplyDeleteLady Susan gets my "yay"! She is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, just had a thought do you suppose that is a mourning necklace of sorts?
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous colours!
ReplyDeleteYea!

Mmmmmm, white froth and lace. Love it. Not too crazy about the blue fuzzy thing crawling up and around her neck though. Still, I give it a Yay!
ReplyDeleteYay! That is a wonderful dress, why don't they make those kinds of dresses nowadays anymore? :(
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's dressed for her own happy hanging!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the dress, but the noose has to go. So I don't know whether to say Yay to the dress or Nay to the...whatever that is.
I think she looks quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to give it a yay over all. The stuff around her neck confuses me though.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the colour combo! I agree with what the others are saying though, the noose necklace thing was a VERY bad idea. Apart from that, a complete and total YAY!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and her simple hairstyle. Yay!
ReplyDeleteShe looks serene and composed. I love the picture. Definitely Yay!
ReplyDeleteYay for an overall impression of loveliness, Nay for having really icky details when you look at it closely. Call it a Yay, but barely!
