  2. Ouch! But true, I'm sure. In The Smart there's a picture of a print that depicts her as the 4th or 5th in line for the oh-so-coveted position of Queen of Hell. Now, I wonder...who were the ladies who beat her out? I'll take another look at the page, but it's such a small image that there seems no way a mere mortal can read the fine print at the bottom. More Tart material, to be sure!

  3. It was actually Elizabeth Chudleigh who they thought was actually worse! Although I don't recall her actually being responsible for anyone's death...

  4. Really? I'd have to agree that Elizabeth Chudleigh is a lightweight compared to Mrs Rudd. But then, they were two different types of transgression and my modern perspective isn't the same. But still....

  5. It is interesting isn't it? I can only attribute it to Miss Chudleigh being found guilty of her crimes in court whereas Mrs. Rudd was, unfortunately, not.
