I just love the name of this manor. I know I read what "Hoo" stands for somewhere, but have forgotten it.
I believe it's anglo-saxon or some such, for 'hill.' If I was ever to have an estate, it would have to have a fun name like Luton Hoo
Most excellent typo! I'm sure lots of the Earl of Bute's opponents when he was George III's favorite and running the government thought of him as "that Scot brute!" ;)
